Reading through the comments on my most popular post with almost 1.5 million views, 10 Habits for a Well-Run Home, I found there was a lot of talk about my suggestion of doing 1 load of laundry daily. Many loved the idea, while others completely balked at it.
Those who did do a load a day found that this is what worked for them. In a larger household with 3+ children, it may very well be best that 1 load be done daily to stay on top of it and keep it from getting out of hand.

By now, everyone is back in school. While many of us are sad, some breathe a deep sigh of relief. Ahhh…
One thing that we ALL dread is that morning rush. The mad frenzy to make sure they have everything they need for the day, and that the kids are fed and dressed. And sending them off on a cheerful note would be nice as well!
A peaceful morning does not just happen by accident. It takes careful preparations and the creation of routines. And it also takes preparing much of what will be needed the night before.
I grew up watching (and reading!) Little House on the Prairie. I loved that time period and thought how awesome it would’ve been to live in that era.
Of course, now that I am a grown, married mother, I now know how much work poor Caroline Ingalls and her girls REALLY would have had to do. While I long for the simplicity of that way of living, I do not miss my modern appliances that make my job a WHOLE lot easier.
