Most of us only have to look at our own waistline or hips to know that there is an epidemic of obesity in America, and much of the developed world. Yet we have at our disposal all the diet foods and reduced calorie foods we can imagine. There has also been a boom in the production and sales of 100 calorie snack packages of foods.
There are a few problems with these foods.
They are expensive per serving. They tend to be highly processed. If they are a low-fat refined wheat product, such as most of the ones in the [...]
I love helping women. I love to help women in practical ways, in ways that will help them feel more peaceful and rested. To help them feel like they accomplished something. I also like to help women accept that it is okay if they DON’T get it ALL done. It is okay if they DON’T have it ALL together. And I like to let them know that they are not alone and MANY other women feel the same way.
I think that by admitting it and banding together, we can help one another be more comfortable in [...]
Women are caretakers. Even in this 21st century when the woman has taken a greater role in being a breadwinner, she is STILL a caretaker at heart. She puts everyone else above her needs. If you read my blogs for long, you will know that I am an advocate for taking care of yourself too. Maybe even first. Because if you don’t take care of you, who will take care of everyone else?

You feel like if something is [...]
The best thing you can do for your children is to take care of their mama. You know the old adage, If mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy. And this is so true.
And even thought that saying is cute and funny, there is a much deeper side to this. Women will push themselves way more than they should, taking care of everyone else, many times at the detriment to their own physical and mental health.
I encourage you to start implementing some of these steps right away!
10 things to help keep mama happy
1. Turn your laptop/TV/smartphone [...]
As a busy wife and mother who was, up until last year, working 80+ hours a week, I did not take much time for myself. I did not eat well, sleep well, exercise or take time to just BE.
I also neglected my health.
I did not go to the dentist for over 2 years. I put off my annual gyno check-up for over 18 months. And… even though I am almost 46 years old, I had not yet had a baseline mammogram.
I am willing to bet that many of you are in the same boat. Not taking [...]
