Reading Time: 2 minutes

For busy moms, it can seem like there’s just not enough time in the day to do everything you need to do. On top of your day job, you need to make dinner, help your kids do their homework, and worry about them 24/7.

Fortunately, thanks to technology, there are a number of tools that can help stressed moms with their multi-tasking, and maybe even allow them a little time to take the occasional breather. Some of these techie tools are:

Parental Controls

There’s no question that there’s all kinds of online content that’s inappropriate for children. Not to mention what being online for extended periods of time can do to a child’s physical, mental and emotional development. But you can control all of that.

Many popular cell phones, home computers and other electronic devices include integrated parental controls. You just go into the Settings to put restrictions on how long your child can be online, what types of content they can access, and even stop them from making unauthorized purchases. And if the standard controls just aren’t meeting your needs, you can always find third-party parental control apps to give you just the functionality you want.

Tracking Watches

When you want to keep an eye on your child’s location outside the home, this is a great alternative to using the tracking feature on a child’s cell phone. Phones can get left somewhere but, as something they wear, a tracking watch for sure goes wherever your child goes. They come in an array of fun styles and colors, so your kids will actually want to wear one and keep it on.

App-Controlled Baby Monitors

Even when you can’t be in the room, technology has enabled you to still look over your children. With today’s baby monitors, you can simply hook up a camera or two and keep an eye on your young ones from the convenience of your computer or cell phone.

As an added bonus, these baby monitors can continue to help you even once your kids have outgrown them. Leave them in place to supplement your security system, and stay on the lookout for intruders or naughty pets.

Streaming Videos

You may think cartoons and videos are just for fun. But they can actually be a very effective tool for teaching kids about things like safety, history, health and more. Because they’re entertaining, videos can keep children engaged and, therefore, more likely to actually retain messages about auto safety, the importance of physical exercise, when the Declaration of Independence was signed, and so on.

Video Games

If streaming videos are effective at giving kids information, video games can actually help to put those lessons into action. We’re not talking first-person shooter style games, of course. More educational video games can help your children learn strategy, how to solve problems and, at least with certain devices, have them do so by physically engaging their whole body.

Today’s fast-paced world puts more demands on moms than ever before. But with technological tools like these at your disposal, at least you know you have some help keeping your kids safe, happy and entertained.
